After completing my Bachelor of Dental Surgery from Bhubaneswar, Odisha, I embarked on a path that was well-defined and expected of me: becoming a dental surgeon and leading a life of stability. Being a medical professional, I ventured into practising dentistry in the City of Joy, Kolkata, gaining valuable experience and creating moments of delight along the way. As I gained valuable experience moving from clinic to clinic, I began to feel a sense of hollowness in my pursuit of stability and ambition.
As the River Finds the Sea…
Then came a major turning point in my life—the Northeast called. I allowed my destiny to unfold naturally, transitioning from a medical professional to a nurturer of mindful living. Nothing could have prepared me for what I discovered in Northeast India’s best-kept secret. The lush green valleys, verdant hills, and nature’s basket of organic vegetation won my heart instantly.
Bloom Where You Are Planted…
In an unexpected place, I felt free for the first time as I began to embrace the nature and culture of the Northeast. From the tea gardens of Assam to the breathtaking Matu Waterfall in Arunachal Pradesh, the Northeast has so much to offer! The aspects that struck me the most were the fresh aroma of organic grows.
The earthy smell of ginger freshly plucked, black cardamom, turmeric, and even the fermented bamboo shoots- all these varieties of organic vegetables were a relief for me, who sought fresh and fertiliser-free. As if suddenly, I unlocked a secret to wellness!
Not All Who Wander Are Lost…
Exploring the foods, fruits, vegetables, spices, culture and people of the Northeast felt like I found a purpose! A purpose to educate, explore, find, and discover the hidden gems of the Northeast in the form of unique food preparation, culture surrounding unique traditions and customs, and flavours of organic grows.
Through this platform, I thus begin my journey of learning and sharing and don a hat of a health enthusiast, a passionate food explorer, a promoter of organic growth, and a curious traveller! I hope you will also participate in my journey of mine through thick and thin!
